Lee Clark is hoping that forward Nikola Zigic will be right at home in the side after a move for him at the end of the season fell through.

The 31 year old was subject of a move from Real Mallorca but a deal could not be done before the transfer deadline.

This leaves Clark with a player who might not have been in his plans originally but the Blues boss is certain that he will give his all when donning a blue shirt.

Zigic has now been with Blues since his move from Racing in May 2010, he went off the boil for a while but has hit back this season with two goals from three appearances.

‘I have got the utmost respect for the guy,’ Clark told the Birmingham Mail.

‘He’s a good man, he’s a talented footballer. I just wanted it resolved one way or the other and now it has been cleared up we can all get on with things.

‘His focus in training has been fantastic. Whether the speculation has affected him a little bit, only Ziggy can answer that.

‘But he’s certainly looked a lot more at ease around the training ground, around the place, and he’s been very impressive.’
