Birmingham manager Lee Clark is pretty pleased with how the pre-season games are going ahead of the trip to Whaddon Road this weekend.

And it’s not just the results that are pleasing, the way the squad are gelling and training together is a good thing to see going so well ahead of the big kick-off in August.

Blues head to Cheltenham Town on Saturday feeling good and with the players in the right frame of mind to put in another good performance like they did in the 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach and the 2-1 win over Shrewsbury Town in which there were goals for Mitch Hancox and Nikola Zigic.

Clark told the Birmingham Post: “We`re getting all kinds of things out of it so far.

“Different formations, trying new ideas, individual performances, team performances… what we do what we have got the ball, what we do when we haven`t got the ball.”

He added: “There are one or two areas we still need to brush up on, but things are going positively.”
