Lee Clark was happy after seeing his side win 1-0 against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Saturday, but he wasn’t getting carried away.

Nikola Zigic scored the all important goal that won the game for City with just 9 minutes of the game remaining and although the win lifts them up to 11th place in the league, all talk of a play-off spot has been stopped.

Clark remembers that although they are now looking nice in the table, there is only a seven point gap between them and the relegation places.
In an interview with the Birmingham Mail. Clark was asked if he had one eye on a playoff spot.

‘No,’ was the resounding answer.

‘We have got to still be aware of what’s going on behind us. We want to be positive and look ahead, of course. But, because of how the results are going, we can’t be complacent.

‘I’d say there’s more teams on good runs in the bottom half of the table than the top.

‘The table has turned itself on its head.

‘If we do things right in the last eight games we can look in front of us as well. Wherever that takes us, we will look at it at the end of the season.’
