Birmingham City manager Lee Clark lashed out at his players after they put in a performance that the boss described as ‘outrageous’ against Huddersfield on Saturday.

The 2-1 defeat means that City have now gone 11 home games without a win and the gaffer is not happy about the situation after watching a game that he could take no positives from.

Huddersfield took the lead through Oliver Norwood and then went two in front when Adam Clayton added a second. That made sure of the visitors getting the points with Blues only having a late consolation goal from Olly Lee deep into injury time.

Clark said to reporters after the game: ‘That was probably our worst performance of the season and that’s not taking anything away from Huddersfield, who played well.

‘It looks like we have people who fear playing in front of their own supporters. It’s outrageous. The fans have not turned on us.

‘The players have shown at certain times they can play at home.

‘Their goalkeeper probably had his easiest day in football. You need to have home fans on the edge of their seats, we’re not doing that. It’s nonsensical.’

Blues will be hoping for better results from their next two games which are both away at Blackpool and then Ipswich Town.
