Lee Clark has expressed his concern over picking David Edgar to face Leeds on Saturday.

Edgar played a big part in Canada’s 3-1 victory on Wednesday morning and won’t arrive back at Birmingham until Friday morning. Giving the Blues staff just 24 hours before the early kick off against Leeds.

The Canadian international could potentially not be tactically ready with so little preparation. In addition to that it may be a bit too much to play two games so close together coupled with his extensive travelling.

Edgar has been first choice this season, whether that be in central midfield or at centre back; partnering Grant Hall. Blues will certainly miss his influence if he doesn’t make the game.

Blues take on Leeds in the lunchtime kick off on Saturday and Lee Clark may have to look to Paul Robinson to come in at centre half. Gavin Gunning remains sidelined.

Birmingham will be hoping to put to bed any doubts about their quality after losing 4-0 away to Wigan at the DW Stadium.
