Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish is hoping that keeper Ben Foster makes a quick recovery after having to be taken off in the game against Liverpool.

Foster lasted until the 40th minute at Anfield before having to be taken off with a dead leg, the player will now be closely monitored to see if he has any chance of appearing against Wolves on Sunday.

Speaking to bcfc.com, McLeish said: ‘Ben is struggling to walk and has a very stiff back as well as a dead leg. He picked up the knock in the build-up to the second goal and couldn’t continue.

‘He’s been in excellent form this season and in my opinion been one of the best keepers in the Barclays Premier League so that didn’t help our cause.

‘The club doctor and rest of the medical team will give him all the treatment and attention he needs and the picture will be clearer over the next few days as to what his chances are for next weekend.’
