Talk about announcing yourself with a bang.
Just a shame he couldn’t have done that a couple of weeks ago, might have got himself a late nomination for the FIFA Puskas Award. Oh well, at least he’s got himself in nice and early for next year’s awards.
I’m talking of course about Alvaro Gimenez and his first goal for the Blues. Having signed in the summer, he’s slowly been making his way into the first team, been on the bench for the games against Bristol City and Nottingham Forest, he was finally let loose by Pep Clotet last night and showed us just what we were missing. Let’s hope the rest of them are just as spectacular.
Having collected a through ball from Steve Seddon he took one touch to control it and then lofted it over the onrushing goalkeeper to seal a 2-0 victory for City against Barnsley.
Goal. Seddon peach of a ball, giminez wonderful chip. 2-0 #BCFC pic.twitter.com/0KfWeEpwRl

Needless to say, the goal went down extremely well with the Birmingham City fans and they couldn’t contain their excitement on Twitter when it went in. I think this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.
Cheeky that was!
