Cheeky Blues Defying The Odds

Mitchell Bray says: Cheeky monkeys defying the odds

To be where we are in the league and to be at thirty points by the start of December is really defying the odds.

Monk’s men have raised the bar, raised the tempo and certainly raised the roof.

What happens when Jota returns and the ‘near to seen Vassell’ also?

Our second half of the season looks full of promise. However, we are Blues so best not to get carried away but just enjoy the moment.

This first half of the campaign has certainly stood out for me in the form of Jukey and Adams, who under recent managers have struggled both in confidence and finishing. James Beattie I am told is the reason, with time spent turning these two into one of the most feared twin strike forces in the division. Maghoma also has improved with technique and strength helped by the two combative midfielders in Gary Gardner and Keifenbeld.

Monk has certainly brought about pride and belief in the club which is very much appreciated by us supporters, at a time when our owners(whoever they are) remain distant. We used to dream about what Rowett would or could have achieved had he had money to spend but we never had the chance to see. This time around, it should be Garry Monk to be given the opportunity to show what he can do in the transfer windows and we dearly hope he gets the chance. In normal circumstances, he would be rubbing his hands in anticipation for January to add some quality to our thin squad in order to cement a firm spot in the top six, but as it is Garry’ cheeky monkies will continue to defy the odds and work the magic among themselves.

With thanks to Mitchell Bray
