Championship Club Locked In Negotiations To Sign Two Birmingham Players With Talks ‘Ongoing’

|

Bolton Wanderers are locked in talks to sign both David Stockdale and Jonathan Grounds, according to the Birmingham Mail‘s Brian Dick.

Financial Fair Play considerations mean we are keen to get both players off the books to reduce the club’s wage bill, and the Trotters look to be keen to take them off our hands.

The Mail reports that no agreement has been reached for the pair as of yet, with talks believed to be “ongoing.”

As Bolton are looking to take both players on loan, today’s transfer deadline is not important. Phil Parkinson’s side can negotiate with us up until August 31st to get the deals over the line.

With the club having signed Lee Camp on a free transfer from Cardiff City, it means Garry Monk is able to let Stockdale go without worrying about a lack of experience in the goalkeeping department.

The arrival of Kristian Pedersen from Union Berin earlier this summer meant Grounds’ future was always in question, and it looks as though he could now leave on a temporary basis if Bolton can agree a move for the left-back.
