Steven Caldwell insists that Blues can make it into the play offs come the end of the season.

Blues have not had it easy this term with the extra games that the Europa League had placed upon them, but they came through and although they did not make it to the knockout stages, they certainly did not do their credibility an injustice.

But now almost all concentration goes into the league games as City look to return to the top flight at the first time of asking.
And Caldwell insists they can close the six-point gap to the play-off places.

‘There’s still so much to play for, so many points available,’ Caldwell told the Birmingham Mail. ‘There’s a long way to go and we have always felt we have more to offer, that we can improve rather than go backwards.

‘The Europa League games were tremendous for everybody, it was a great experience but the effects of going abroad, playing in such games in between the league, did impact on us a wee bit.

‘Now we can fully focus on the Championship and put all our efforts into getting into the play-off places, hopefully better than that.

‘But we’re not quite ‘there’. We’ve performed well, but we’ve not been capitalising when we’ve been on top. So it’s time for action, we need to start getting the job done.’
