Birmingham City captain Stephen Carr has extended his stay at St Andrews by signing a new one year contract with the club.
Carr has been one of City`s better performers since he came out of retirement in 2009, and fans will be pleased that the 35 year old has inked a new deal.
Another person who is pleased with the signing is manager Lee Clark.
Clark told the club`s official website: ‘I’m delighted that Stephen Carr has agreed a new contract with the club as he is a very important player.
‘I’ve worked with Stephen both as a player and a coach and I know that he’s not just a fantastic, international-class player but he’s also a leader.
‘Stephen is a major influence both on the field and in the dressing room and he’ll continue as my captain this season.’
