Birmingham have signed defender Paul Caddis from Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee.

The defender impressed while on a season long loan with Blues last season, but at the end of the loan City could not afford to bring the player in on a full time basis.

Now it seems there is no place for Caddis at Swindon and Lee Clark has managed to do a deal that brings the 25 year old to St Andrews on a three year contract.

Clark told City’s official website: ‘I’m delighted to bring Paul back to the club. He’s obviously a player that we know very well and certainly not a gamble as he did the business for us last season.

‘With Neal Eardley’s situation it was important that we brought in another defender and, to add to that, Paul is a specialist right-back. When Neal returns we are going to have ourselves two very experienced right-backs.’
