Blues manager Lee Clark could well give goalkeeper Jack Butland his first chance in the senior team this weekend as Blues prepare to take on Charlton Athletic.

Clark said that there was ”a fair chance“ that Butland would be able to carry on where he left of on Wednesday when he won his first cap for England in the 2-1 win over Italy. That appearance actually made him the youngest keeper that has ever played for the England senior team.

An appearance for Birmingham would be the icing on the cake for Butland who not only has his England cap, but also represented Great Britain in the 2012 Olympics on London.

When asked whether Butland would play, Clark told the Birmingham Mail: “There`s a fair chance of that.

“Its been a fantastic few months for the lad. He`s so down to earth about it all.

“We were delighted for him winning his first England cap and it`s quite unique really that he`s won it only having experienced League Two football.”
