Burton Hurt em’

Well that was shocking. Blues had all the similarities of a pub team as they went down 2-0 at Burton Albion.

Aside from the first ten minutes, it really was painful to watch and really brings home how much work Gary Rowett still has to do before Blues are genuine promotion contenders.

You could argue that the team selection was wrong but I disagree. The mentality was the problem – the midfield was too far away from Lukas Jutkiewicz. The opening exchanges were promising with Blues’ midfield surrounding the lone striker who was bringing the wide players into play, we looked a threat.

But for some reason, the midfield got deeper and deeper as the first half wore on.

Credit to Burton Albion who were right on their game making it difficult for Blues to play. The long punt seemed to be the only idea.

It seems the momentum has dissapeared. Even on Tuesday night, the performance was the greatest despite the win.

The team needs freshening up. It’s time to bring Tomasz Kuszczak back. Che Adams needs to play and Greg Stewart deserves a start. Let’s get some energy back.
