Jon Walters is a January target for Birmingham City manager Steve Cotterill.

The 34 year-old will be made available for loan after struggling to hold down a first team place at Burnley.

Cotterill is looking to add firepower to his Blues squad who have hit the back of the net just 10 times in 21 games this term.

Walters, who has been capped 51 times by the Republic of Ireland, has bags of experience and is well known for his work rate.

Walters is highly sought after though and Blues will have to fight off several other club’s to capture his temporary signature.

  • We need to improve the service to the strikers. At this rate even if we had Messi up front he’d struggle to score.

  • Ijaz.Watch the video post match exchange with the fans and Cotterill. Then ask yourself who would possibly want to come to us.Well done Evening Mail.Just tipped me over the edge now and cannot support this shambles.

    This is massively incorrect.

He was injured in the League Cup in September and has been a long term injury ever since. Only recently started training again.
