Birmingham City manager Lee Clark insists that Chris Burke will not be leaving the club before the season kicks off, despite speculation surrounding the player.

Burke has been rumoured to be moving away from St Andrews as Blues look to lower the wage bill. Indeed, Burke has attracted the attention of other managers and he has been linked with a couple of clubs, including Norwich who of course have Chris Hughton at the helm.

But Clark rubbishes such talk and made it clear that the man voted as players player of the season for last term will remain as Blues look to try and gain promotion back to the Premier League under new management.

And the new Birmingham boss says there has been no contact from any other club regarding Burke.

Clark told Sky Sports News: ‘I’ve had no indication, nothing at all, about Chris.

‘He is very, very happy here. He enjoys the training, he enjoys his football and it’s not an issue.’
