Boss’s ALS Bucket Challenge

The ALS bucket challenge has swept the internet, spreading awareness and raising money for a fantastic cause, if fantastic is even the right word to use.

Amyotrophic Latearl Sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that terrifies those who have it and presents an unprofitable research avenue to pharmaceutical companies.

People who have this disease slowly loose the use of their body as their nerve cells in their brain and spinal cord deteriorate to the point where their brain can no longer initiate or control muscle movement. Simply put, this illness slowly paralyses them.

Early signs of the disease often include muscles weakness especially in the arms and legs; speech; swallowing or breathing. People in the latter stage of this illness are fed through tubes and cannot even breathe on their own.

From my research is is understood that their only hope of research is through people power, as there just isnt enough of them for the big business of medicine to help out.

So what is the challenge, how are people helping? Get a bucket, fill it with ice water and tip it all over your head!

Then nominate three people to do the same. Everyone involved and watching the videos can donate to the ALS cause.

Here is Lee Clark doing his nomination!
