Blues have discovered that Aaron Mclean had already represented Hull City earlier on in the competition. As a result of this, they notified the The Premier League and have opted to withdraw from the competition.
Well it certainly doesn’t bowed well for the club making a mistake like this, I’m sure the young lads in that team are disappointed to learn of it.
In addition to the mistake, why did McLean not mention he had played in the competition already? did he forget or neglect to tell anyone? one can only speculate.
It seems like a large price to pay for some match fitness now.
This comes as good news for Newcastle United who have been reinstated. The club have insisted that they will continue to participate in the U21 Professional Development League Two.
