Dundee strike Kane Hemmings was a target for Blues in recent weeks. The 24 year-old, who was born in Burton, has attracted interest from several clubs from England and Scotland after netting 21 goals in the SPL last season.

However, Dundee released a statement stating that Hemmings would not be sold unless a ‘mega money’ offer was received.

It was thought that Hemmings had a £250,000 release clause in his contract but Dundee manager Paul Hartley has denied this.

Hemmings started his career at Tamworth before being prized away from The Lamb by Rangers. A move to Cowdenbeath and Barnsley followed before ending up at Dens  Park.

Hemmings has scored 60 goals in 127 career appearances including one last weekend in the Scottish League Cup first round against East Fife which Dundee lost on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Due to Dundee’s stubborn stance, it’s unlikely Blues will persist further with their interest.
