Birmingham City kicked off their U21 campaign with a respectable draw at home to QPR U21s.

29 minutes in, QPR scored. Michael Doughty scored after a cross was only partially cleared. Blues then shot just wide with Johnstone missing after Brown and Hancox strung together some good play.

Blues threatened again. Soloman’s shot was saved by Lumley. Reilly was to test Lumley again, the QPR keeper was equal to it.

Birmingham U21’s went in a goal down at the break.

After the interval Blues had the ball in the net. Nasseri played through Olly Lee, who was then adjudged to be offside. Neil Eardley, captain of the side, walloped the crossbar with a brilliant 30 yard volley.

Blues eventually scored to level the game. Packwood on 68 minutes headed home an Olly Lee freekick.

The final chance for Birmingham was a shot from Mitch Hancox after a Truslove pass set him up.
