Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has been dealt a blow in his pursuit of Aberdeen star Kenny McLean.

The Dons have warned that any bid would be pointless and the midfielder isn’t available at any price.

The news comes after Derek McInnes rejected the chance to be the new Sunderland manager with assurances that no more players would be sold this summer.

Aberdeen have already lost their captain Ryan Jack, Niall McGinn, Ash Taylor and former Blues target Jonny Hayes.

Redknapp is now likely to have to look elsewhere as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the new Championship season.
