Birmingham City are on the verge of completing a deal for former Blackburn Rivers midfielder Jason Lowe, according to a source close to Vital Birmingham.

The 26-year-old is currently a free agent after he was released by Rovers following their relegation to League One last summer.

He had previously been on trial with Premier League side West Bromwich Albion but he was unsuccessful in earning a deal there.

The midfielder now looks set to get his move to the Midlands but with Blues.

Stay tuned as we bring you more on this as we get it.

  • Is he any better then the players we already have? I for one do not think he is a better footballer then Davis, Gardner etc.

  • As a Blackburn fan I can confirm he is awful. Right back is his best position, but don’t take too many positive connotations from my use of the word ‘best’. He’s crap there too, just less so than when he trundles around in midfield hoping nobody passes to him.

  • We have a player like that ,and someone picked him for last Saturdays game , we lost of course.
