Birmingham City striker Matt Green has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in training.

The 26 year old has damaged his cruciate ligament and now the man who has netted twice for Birmingham so far this season will not be seen until next term.

‘Unfortunately we’ve had some bad news on Matt Green,’ Clark told the club’s official website.

‘He has done his cruciate ligaments and will be out for the foreseeable future, he certainly won’t come back this season.

‘So we have lost Matt for the rest of the season which is hammer blow to us but, more importantly, a hammer blow to the lad.’

Green joined Blues from Mansfield Town in May this year, in his time with the Conference outfit, including two loan spells he made 97 appearances and netted 57 times.
