Birmingham City go into tomorrow’s second city derby just two points above the relegation zone.

Today’s Championship action saw Blackburn Rovers held to a goalless draw at Wolves. However, Nottingham Forest beat Reading 3-2 at the City Ground meaning they jump above Blues into 20th.

Bristol City and Burton Albion are safe after winning their games – both move on to 51 points.

Championship bottom six
19. QPR (50 pts)
20. Forest (48 pts)
21. Blues  (47 pts)
——————————————————–
22. Blackburn  (45 pts)
23. Wigan (41 pts)
24. Rotherham  (21 pts)

A win at Villa Park would propel Blues up to joint 19th – five points ahead of the bottom three with two games to go.

A draw would move them to joint 20th – three points clear.

A defeat would mean Blues stay 21st – two points above the relegation zone.

Blackburn run-in: Aston Villa (h) Brentford (a)
Forest run-in: QPR (a) Ipswich (h)
Blues run-in: Aston Villa (a) Huddersfield (h) Bristol City (a)

  • Blues need to concentrate on there own results now …there is only one way to go UP. .

  • Bristol result is ok. They are safe so no last match tensions from them. Just vexed to think that wretched Zola has put us in this position.2wins out of 24 disgraceful.

  • As regards tomorrow who knows. Not expecting much, just glad we have a two point cushion over Blackburn. Will Villa turn up at Ewood Park next Saturday?

  • Beating the villa will all but keep us up. Its safe to say a win would be the best result a draw would main we have to get a result v ever Huddersfield or Bristol City we must at lest match Blackburn’s results If we are to stay up. KRO.
