Blues set to move for Shrewsbury Town defender

The Blues are reportedly set to make a move Shrewsbury’s out of contract defender Jermaine Grandison, according to reports on th72.co.uk.

The 24 year olds contract is due to expire this summer with the newly promoted League One side and reports suggest that former Burton Albion boss Gary Rowett has targeted him to be part of a new look Blues squad for the new championship campaign.

Grandison, who can play at both centre back and right back, is thought to be considering his options ahead of the new season and it is rumoured that the Birmingham born defender would be interested in a move back to the second city.

After helping Shrewsbury Town achieve promotion into League One last season, Grandison is hoping that a move up the leagues might be on offer and with Birmingham City reportedly interested in him, that move may come around sooner than he imagined.
