Blues set to cash in on their Stock

|

David Stockdale has been told he can leave he can leave Birmingham City, according to Phil Hay, Chief Football Writer at the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The 32-year-old signed for Blues from Brighton last summer after helping the Seagulls to Premier League promotion.

Signed by Harry Redknapp, Stockdale reportedly earns £35,000 a week making him one of the top earners at St. Andrews.

If Stockdale leaves, Blues are likely to seek a replacement. Tomasz Kuszczak, 36, is still at the club, as is youngster Conal Trueman.

Stockdale made 39 appearances for Blues last season and was Garry Monk’s first choice since taking the reigns in March.

Stockdale’s wages are likely to have been a sticking point when planning for next season. But despite his inconsistent performances, he remains a competent Championship ‘keeper and Blues will do well to find a replacement if, indeed, that is their plan.
