Blues have reportedly signed Virtus Entella left back Cheick Keita according to quotes that have been released from the Serie B sides club president Antonio Gozzi.
The fee for the 20-year-old is said to be ?1.7m which is a significant deal for the Italian club who signed Keita from Monaco as a youth player.
Blues` only current option at left back is Jonathan Grounds so if this deal has gone through then it would give Grounds some much needed competition.
Keita would be Gianfranco Zola`s third signing of the transfer window after the previous arrivals of Lukas Jutkiewicz on a permanent deal and Craig Gardner.
