According to online betting website Bet Victor, Birmingham City are joint favourites along side Derby County and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the race to sign former West Bromwich Albion striker Victor Anichebe.

The 28-year-old forward is currently a free agent after the Baggies opted against renewing his contract and it is believed that he would be willing to drop down a level in order to revive his injury-ridden career.

Formerly of Everton, Anichebe joined West Brom on deadline day back in 2013 for a reported fee of £6 million but during his time with the Midlands club, the Nigerian forward has failed to keep himself fit, restricting himself to just 63 appearances in all competitions, during which he has only found the back of the net nine times, including two against Blues in the FA Cup.

The online betting company have listed Blues, Derby and Wolves as front runners with a price tag of 4/1 on his head to join either of the three previously listed club, but they aren’t the only clubs who are reportedly interested in his services.

They have listed a whole host of other Championship clubs on their site, including the likes of Huddersfield Town and Nottingham Forest, but out of the three favourites, a move to the Rams would seem more logical as they are likely to be one of the only teams who can meet his wage demands.
