Birmingham City have reportedly rejected an enquiry from an unnamed League One side for striker Lukas Jutkiewicz, Vital Birmingham has learned.

A source close to us has revealed that the club have rejected the advances of a side from the third tier of English football with manager Steve Cotterill wanting to keep hold of the big forward.

The 28-year-old has notched up 22 league and cup appearances for Blues this season but he has only managed to find the back of the net once, in a 1-1 draw against Derby County away from home.

And with Southampton loanee Sam Gallagher now finding a bit of form with four goals in his last five appearances, chances look like they could become even more limited for the former Burnley striker.

However, with Nicolai Brock-Madsen the only striker that Blues are looking to get rid of, it would take a sensational offer for the club to depart with Jutkiewicz, or any of they other strikers for that matter.

  • No chance of a proven striker coming in this window then …blues had to sell £55 million worth of players is the football league telling blues that they now can’t replace them ..that is not the act of a free country ..or an act of a sporting hiararchy…

  • I like the juke how many full games has he had this sesson not many . The guy is better than leageu 1 he would not go. Brock should be sold we need Jukey he is better for us as backup than he is for a leage 1 side keep him.

  • 28? Plays though he’s 38. Never been first choice for us. If he can be replaced replace him.

  • Jukey is what he is-honest player who is generally not a threat to the opposition due to his lack of pace and finishing.Gallagher and whoever is brought in has to be it for the rest of the season.Gallagher needs to reach double figures and someone in midfield also.Biggest, biggest disappointment for me is Jota, who had me very excited at the initial signing. He may come good but hallmarks of Fabrinni keep haunting me.

  • We need to sell to avoid breaching the rules , we have a few to let go and must to move upward , their are some good brave young strikers out there , hungry to succeed,…we are starting to form a powerful squad ,but need to do it slowly , for me Jota will come good when we are behind at half time or in cup matches when you only get one chance to win or in the prem ..the same with Adams and Vassell .We have some good players and all of what we have in the first team we will need .. with only 1/2 a season to go two quality players will do in this window , get em in there ….
