The players of Birmingham City have rejected their complementary ticket allocation. They prefer their wives and girl friends not to suffer the vile hatred that eminates at THE DERBY particularly at the home of the Lower Grounders.

In 2003 the home fans sported blond wigs in reverence to the murderer of a Blues fan. Then managed by Graham Taylor the home side were soundly beaten 2-0 and had two players sent off. A fan ran the length of the field to attack Robbie Savage, and hordes of fans tore down barriers in an attempt to get at
the Blues fans in the visitors paddock.

Hundred of tickets were sold to Blues fans in the home parts of the ground and they had to sit in silence as their team grabbed three vital points. The Fa incredibly commended the Villa’s security on their performance!?

The following year passed relatively peacefully as the game was played at noon on a Sunday. The famous Stern John equaliser in injury time bringing Blues a point after being 2-0 down.

Last years scoreline of 2-1 flattered the home team as Blues gave O’leary’s ‘honest bunch of lads, a football lesson. Many home fans missed their goal in order to block the Witton Lane area and lay in wait for the exiting jubilant visitors. The visitor were forced to walk miles out of their way to get to their cars

The away section at the Old ground is poor. The seats are laid on the old terracing and the spectators are surrounded above and to the sides by home supporters. All manner of objects can and have been hurled from even the Doug Ellis stand. Because of the way the ground is the home side cannot offer their entitlement of 4,200 tickets as that would mean putting half of the supporters in the Doug Ellis stand. That is why the price cannot be hiked up as when THE DERBY is played at St Andrews.
