Andy Walker is set to leave Birmingham City on 08 November after being appointed as Senior Comms Manager of the England football team.

Andy’s first task will be preparing the media and comms structure for the upcoming European Championships in 2016, and probably getting to know some of the stars he will be working with.

Walker has been running things for Blues for some time now and will be missed by anyone who follows Birmingham via their direct media outlets. Blues have a fantastic network of coverage from their twitter account right across to match day coverage.

During his time with the club he has covered Blues Premier League spells, the Carling Cup win in 2011 and even Blues Europa League Campaign.

It is no surprise that he has been able to bag himself one of the top jobs in the country in his field, whilst leaving Blues with a great set up.

He Tweeted A very proud day. Relishing the new challenge ahead and can’t wait to get started with The @FA and @England

I will leave @BCFC (on 8 November) with a heavy heart. This is a fantastic club with some incredible people. Ready for the next chapter.

We here at Vital wish him well with his new challenge.
