Blues Make Davenport Bid

Blues have apparently tabled a £1.5 million bid for Spurs youngster Calum Davenport.

With all the negotiations and most of the forms filled with respect to Stephen Kelly, Blues have moved on and made the first move for the 23 year old centre half.

Although Davenport has indicated his willingness to sign for us Reading are also sniffing round with Coppell a long term admirer.

After failing to sign him directly from Coventry when he moved for £1.1 million to Spurs, Coppell tried to get Davenport on loan.

You have to hope that Davenport realises he can build a career with us as we attempt to gain promotion back to the Premiership and that he would see Reading as a step back as most expect them to struggle next season.
