Sometimes you’ve got to look beyond a manager. Sometimes the players need to take responsibility. And tonight’s defeat against Reading at St. Andrews wasn’t Zola’s doing. Lukas Jutkiewicz missed an absolute sitter – not for the first time – after a delicious ball across goal by Kerim Frei. It was harder to miss and Jutkiewicz fluffed his chance.

Predictably, Reading, who were not superior to Blues, took a chance and the three points to take Zola’s winless run into double figures.

Between the penalty areas, Blues didn’t do much wrong. The football was sharp and snappy and, on the whole, well worked. But I’m starting to sound like a broken record that shows no sign of stopping.

I can’t think of much else to write so I’ll say goodnight.

  • In the last 5 games blues have had 73 attempts at goal …..opposition 52
In them 5 games blues have had ….16 shots on target ….Opposition …17
Zola has given us more chances to score with strong wing play …With another striker in the middle .We really are going to give somebody a tanking …Against reading 19 attempts to their 7 and a top team at that …All I can say is to the rest is …GET READY…

  • Will Jerome Sinclair be that man? The strikers were rubbish yesterday. I was really disappointed that Zola didn’t play more of his new players. Frei looked great. Zola could’ve played Nsue on right wing instead of Stewart or Keita on left wing and moved Frei to the right. At this rate Zola will be sacked before Keita has even played a game for us.
