Birmingham City have this morning announced the signing of Luton Town striker Isaac Vassell on a four-year deal.

The striker has been given the number 11 shirt and is eligible to make his league debut tomorrow against Bolton Wanderers at St.Andrew’s.

Blues have been desperately searching for a striker and it is believed that they placed up to five bids for Vassell before finally getting there man.

The 23-year-old is a welcome addition to the Blues squad after it was revealed that Che Adams is likely to miss the next few weeks with the hamstring injury he sustained in the 2-1 win over Bristol City at the weekend.

  • Not what we were looking for in terms of a proven striker at this level but lots of raw talent here that will be given a chance to develop. If he improves as Adams has done then Its good business. Still need another striker in my view.

  • Good player with fantastic attitude. Lets hope he makes the step up quickly. Very pacy and strong. Ideally you’d want to bed him in gradually but needs are a must. I would hope this is the first of a few signings we need to strengthen a team short on numbers.

  • Pleased we have added,it will be a challenge to jump two divisions, remaining optimistic it has been done many times by others successfully. If this is the only striker being added it shows lack of ambition, with Adams out we still need another. He has not cost us too much, there should be plenty left in the transfer kitty to build on this.Pleased yes however more is needed. • Some good news Juke has recovered from injury as has Davis and Grounds. Also Kieftenbeld red card has been rescinded. It will be interesting to see if HR starts with the team that served us so well in second half versus Bristol City or make changes with the Friday game in mind. I think he’ll start GK: Stockdale, RB: Nsue, CB: Morrison, CB: Roberts, LB:Grounds, RM: Cotterill, CM: Gardner, CM: Ndoye, LM: Maghoma, AMC : Davis, ST: Donaldson
