Birmingham City are targeting a move for 29-year-old Lille striker Eder, according to L’Equipe.

The club are said to have made contact with Lille over a potential transfer for the striker, along with Premier League new boys Brighton.

The Ligue 1 club want ?6m for the man who scored the goal that won the 2016 European Championships for Portugal, but both Blues and Brighton would prefer a loan.

After an unsuccessful move to the Premier League with Swansea, Eder has gone on to score six goals in each of his last two seasons with Lille- who are now looking to offload him.

Harry Redknapp is still in the market for a striker, despite securing the services of Isaac Vassell yesterday.

Olympiakos, CSKA Moscow and Girona also keen on Eder, but once again prefer the option of a loan deal.

  • Cant see this happening and he hasn’t got much of a goal scoring record apart from one that won a big cup. Not as good as or certainly no better than the Don in my opinion.

  • Six goals each season, did I read that right? That’s hardly what we need,we have strikers who can manage that pitiful target. I can hardly believe we are going in for this player,if that’s the level of striker we can only chase after we may as well resign ourselves to a scrap at the bottom of the league.I am stunned,is it any wonder Lille want him off their books. Please stay away from St Andrews.
