Birmingham City have reportedly joined the race for Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone according to HITC Sport.

The 30-year-old midfielder is also catching the eye of former Blues manager Gary Rowett at Derby County and with the Tigers actively seeking to get rid of some of their biggest earners, Huddlestone could be the next out the door.

Blues have already got five first team midfielders in the shape of Criag Gardner, Robert Tesche, Stephen Gleeson, David Davis and Maikel Kieftenbeld, a move for Huddlestone seems highly unlikely.

However, it is thought that the midfielder has a £2 million release clause in his current contract with Hull which is said to be attracting interest from Harry Redknapp and Rowett.
