Steve Bruce says that our new signing Cameron Jerome can more than handle the expectations and says he will help push Blues back into the Premiership. He says that Jerome doesn’t just bring goals because he is also more than capable of setting up chances for his team mates. Bruce watched him last season saying he saw the 19-year-old rip Sheffield Wednesday to bits.

Bruce says of the former Cardiff striker, who scored 20 goals last season, ‘Cameron is a young man full of energy, full of life. He’s quick, aggressive and has a go, he’s one of those. Yes, he may not be the finished article, but we like what we’ve seen of him and he scored 20 goals last season. The fact is, if he does that again I know we are going to be very close to getting out of the Championship.’

20 goals for a player who isn’t the ‘finished article’. Could turn out to be a major signing for Blues.

Bruce also says the player has great self belief adding ‘I don’t have any doubt that he will handle everything. He’s coming from a club that’s in the same division as us. I get the impression he is relishing the opportunity and he can’t wait to get started.’
