The Blues and championship rivals Fulham as well as recently relegated side Wigan Athletic are all reportedly interested in signing out of contract Ipswich Town winger Paul Anderson, according to Sudbury Mercury online.

The 26 year old has been told that his contract will not be renewed in the immediate future but talks could still continue. With doubt cast over his future at Town, Birmingham, Fulham and Wigan are all set to offer Anderson a way out of the club.

Having scored in the first leg of the Championship playoff semi finals against Norwich City, Anderson might have thought that his deal would have been automatically renewed but former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Mick McCarthy obviously hasn’t seen enough to immediately issue the ex-Nottingham Forest player a new contract.

However, with no certainty as to whether he will be given a new contract, Anderson may well look to pastures new having regularly found himself amongst the substitutes during his two year spell at Portman Road.
