Blues In Safe Hands Or Not

|

It is only fair to get as many views as one can when reviewing a vital position in the Blues team. Never underestimate the average fan on his/her opinion, although only they who watch the games, in my view, qualify to be heard.

Since Lee Camp joined us he has had many critics, myself included. This particular player who I liken to the late Gary Sprake produces a wild array of first-team performances. Many times I have been stunned by his antics and overall kamikaze positioning and handling of the ball. Supporters around me have been heard to say, “Never a goalkeeper” and, “What is Monk thinking.”

However, surprisingly enough, since the Rotherham win and our security in next season Championship assured, supporters I have broached on the Camp debate have surprised me. Many feel he has done us proud and has been an astute addition. Others have stated that he shouldn’t start next season as our number one goalkeeper. All football fans are notoriously fickle especially after defeats, whereas wins do present a more lenient view of players performances.

Lee Camp divides fans views and it would be interesting to know from a wider cross-section to garner the general feeling. As stated I do get the impression that Blues supporters are ‘warming’ to this player and unlike myself, are not necessarily feeling that this should be a priority for replacement as our number one. We all have our views and thank goodness we are able to express them. Would love yours.
