Blues in Late Win

In what will no doubt be a bitter pill to swallow for Reading, Birmingham ran out late winners last night after the home side put in a very good performance against Rowett’s men.

The game was marred early on when it has been alleged Birmingham’s Fabbrini was punched in the face and so he had to go off for Andy Shinnie in the first half.

Reading will be wondering why they did not put Blues to the sword as they remained on top for the most of the first half.

As we know in football if you don’t make your positive spells count you leave yourself open to a sucker punch and that was just what happened.

Clayton Donaldson broke the deadlock in the 83′ minute as he continues his terrific form going into the close season.

Blues don’t seem to do too well when facing teams who line up with a 4-4-2, maybe that will be something Rowett will look at after this season is finished.

Wes Thomas started the game but did not make himself the impact Rowett was probably hoping for. But Blues fought on through a tough game and managed to nick the win, a perfect away result.
