Blues have no chance of signing Kilgallon

Despite the reported interest from Blues and Wigan, Sheffield United are confident of keeping Matthew Kilgallon at Bramhall Lane.

The Blades have been holding talks with the defender, hoping to get him to commit his long term future to the club, but it was speculated that talks had broken down after it was revealed that Birmingham and Wigan were interested in the player.

But boss Kevin Blackwell insists that he will be able to get his man to sign.

‘Everything is still ongoing,’ Blackwell told the Sheffield Star.

‘In any case, Killa is still under contract with us for another year. We’ve taken up options on everyone who had one.

‘So there’s no crisis. We’ll be having another chat with him before the start of the season.’
