Mitch Hancox has had his contract extended with Blues after managing the breakthrough into the first team.

The 18 year old has been given a new contract that will last until June next year, at the weekend he made his first appearance for City when he came on as a substitute in the home game against Huddersfield Town.

Another Blues youngster, Jack Deaman, was also rewarded with a similar deal.

‘It’s fantastic,’ Hancox, told the Birmingham Mail.

‘It’s always at the back of your mind when you only have six months.
‘But as long as you keep working hard, you will have a chance. Myself and Jack just hit the ground running from the start in pre-season, we just got on with it instead of thinking about things.

‘And we got our rewards by signing extensions and hopefully we can both push on more and at the end of the season make it another year or two-year deal.’
