Birmingham City will be again making the trip to Austria for the summer pre-season tour although the opposition has yet to be named.

Alex McLeish took his squad there last year and was so impressed with things that he has decided that this would be this year`s destination also.

Blues took on and beat Kirchbeg, Victoria Plzen and Nuremberg, before going on to secure runners up spot in the Championship.
Blues will fly to Austria on July 19 before playing three matches against yet-to-be-named opposition on July 20, 23 and 26, returning home on July 27.

McLeish told the club’s official website: ‘We’re returning to familiar surroundings because it was successful, so why not go back? The likes of Arsenal and other top clubs go back to the same bases every year because of the continuity factor.’
