Ahead of the trip to Brentford on Tuesday night, Blues boss Gary Rowett told the media that attacking duo Clayton Donaldson and Andy Shinnie were the biggest doubts.

Donaldson, who is once again the clubs top goal scorer as it stands this season, took a bang to the hip in Saturday’s 2-0 loss at home to Rotherham United, while Shinnie is believe to have a hamstring problem.

The former Burton Albion manager stated that the club would be giving them right up until the last minute for the game against the Bee’s.

Should the pair not recover in time, they are expected to be back for the trip to Leeds United on Saturday 3rd of October.

With it looking increasingly likely that Blues most influential player, Donaldson, could be out of the game against his former side, summer signing Nicolai Brock-Madsen could be set to get his first league start of the season.

Despite Shinnie knocking on the first team door, it is expected that Jon Toral will continue his role at the play maker just behind the main attacker, unless Rowett decides to change things up.
