Recent loan signing Diego Fabbrini made his debut on Saturday afternoon, in a stunning 2-1 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 24 year old midfielder arrived at Blues from Watford and prior to the agreements, was recalled from his Millwall spell. His debut was delayed due to a training injury involving a broken nose; however Rowett seemed determined to give him a chance as soon as possible.

A local derby was a big game to bring Fabbrini into, with a large crowd and an enormous rivalry. But the Italian midfielder did not let this get the better of him, showing a neat performance that really impressed the fans.

Diego shone during the game and his clever tricks and turns excited the whole of St.Andrews. The entire team played well, but he, specifically, seemed to cause Wolves a lot of problems.

With him replacing Andrew Shinnie in a similar role, he had a lot to live up to, as Andy`s improvements have helped Blues this season, in the way of attacking creativity and intent. But despite the pressure, Fabbrini had a great performance and because of this, received an excellent reception. His positive skills gave the game a lift in terms of atmosphere and talent, which of course makes it more enjoyable for everybody involved.

Fabbrini was substituted at around 87 minutes and cramp could have been the cause, along with tactical managerial decisions by the Blues boss. But what a good 87 minutes it was!

As far as loan signings go, he seems to be a good addition in the short term, and hopefully can help Blues gain a decent amount of extra points to see the season out.
