Birmingham City have announced via their official website that they have signed 19 year old defender Noe Baba.

The former Fulham player can also play as a midfielder but his preferred position is as a defender.

Despite suffering from injuries during the early stages of his career, Baba has represented the Cottagers at both the under 18 level and under 21 level.

After successful spells in both sides, he managed to break onto the international stage where he became the first African born player to captain a Republic of Ireland age group when he led the under 17s.

Following a successful trail period with the development squad, the Blues offered the Cameroon born teenager a deal and he is delighted to have signed.

Speaking to the clubs website, Baba said: ‘I’m very pleased and I think it’s a very good opportunity for me.

‘I just want to kick on and start again with something I love.’

Blues fans, what do you make of this signing? Could he be a future partner for Wes Harding? Have you heard of Baba before? If yes, let us know what you think of him in the comment section down below!
