Birmingham City went to Brighton on Saturday and ended the home side’s five game winning streak with a Chris Burke strike.

It took Blues just 27 minutes to find a way through the Brighton defence and when Burke got the chance he unleashed a shot that gave Thomas Kuszczak no chance.

And if Blues had had a bit more luck on their side they could have been two goals up when Leroy Lita was sent through on goal, but he managed to scuff his effort into the arms of Kuszczak.

In the second half Brighton came out looking for an equaliser but although they managed to dominate most of the play, they found themselves up against some resolute Birmingham defending and a keeper who was in no mood to be beaten.

Brighton may have lost the game but they remain on top of the league while the three points moves Blues up to 13th.
