Birmingham City have reportedly completed the signing of former Angers SCO captain Cheikh Ndoye on a free transfer, according to Get French Football.

The 31-year-old midfielder made 33 appearances in the top flight in France last season, scoring five goals in total.

Earlier this week manager Harry Redknapp confirmed to the club that they were in talks with a player but he was unsure as to whether he would be able to gain a work permit, could that player have been Ndoye?

The Senegal international had made 67 appearances in the league and cup for Angers before being released earlier this summer, scoring 15 goals in those outings.

Last summer it was reported that local rivals Aston Villa were interested in his signature, as were Newcastle United, but neither went further with their interest.

We will have more on this story as it unfolds.
