According to reports on the highly regarded website Often Partisan, Birmingham City have entered the race to sign Manchester United youngster James Wilson on loan.

The 20-year-old forward who is originally from Staffordshire has apparently caught the eye of Blues boss Gary Rowett and it is now believed from OP’s credible source that the club are in the market for the striker in what is presumed to be a 12 month loan deal.

Just four days ago, Tuesday June 7th, Wilson was suggested to be interesting Blues’ Championship neighbours, Wolverhampton Wanderers, but it now looks like they have competition with our interest in the forward believed to be genuine.

It has been well documented that Rowett is in the market for a striker with Wilson knowing what it takes to be a second tier striker having had a successful loan with Brighton and Hove Albion last term, it doesn’t surprise me that we have made a move for the United man.

As OP discussed in their original article (link can be found at the bottom), it is very good to see Blues linked with another player who maybe six months ago was out of our financial reach.

Because of this, I believe that there could be a few more surprises in store for Blues during the summer window, but if Wilson does come in, I think he could be the only loan signing that we make as I know that Rowett will want to have players that he can mould over the next season or two.
