Blues battling spirit reminiscent of Carling Cup Final & one man deserves praise

|

Last night’s FA Cup win for Birmingham City against Coventry, was very reminiscent of the epic second half Carling Cup final against Arsenal in 2011.

With players giving their total best and disregarding personal injury – every Blues man and boy performed heroics. My hope is that this game has not taken on any further injuries that might affect the next few vital league games.

Like many things about football, and giving opinions, there are times when harsh comments made about players appear valid at the time of writing – however, there are also times when praise should overcome the criticism. This is such a time for our number one goalkeeper Lee Camp.

This player, who is human, has suffered torrents of criticism over the months and it has been constant until now. At this time and where we are at now, my thoughts and respect are with him. Nobody has been more cynical about him than myself.

Let us hope he carries this resurgence of form into the Bristol game and beyond.
